Since stocking the Zero Bee Vegan Honey, we had a lot of conversations with our clients about how we could incorporate it back into our lives.

So we’ve combined a list of uses and quick recipes to make it a new staple in your pantry!

This new pantry go-to benefits from its blend of botanicals to add an extra depth of flavour to anything you would cook or use it with. Compared to most sweeteners just adding sweetness, Zero-Bee Vegan Honey will bring that extra “je ne sais quoi” so we can have more fun playing with it in the kitchen. 

Put on the apron, and get started:

  1. Baking: Use honey to replace sugar in cakes, cookies, and muffins for a natural sweetness and a slight moisture boost.
  2. Glazes: Create a simple glaze for baked goods, seitan, tofu, or vegetables by combining Zero-Bee Vegan Honey with a little water or vinegar.
  3. Drizzles: Drizzle honey over pancakes, waffles, or your go-to dairy-free yogurt for a sweet and sticky topping.
  4. Drinks sweetener: It can be a great sweet addition to your Sacred Tate Ceremonial Cacao, summer iced tea, or even your morning coffee.
  5. Marinades: Combine Zero-Bee Vegan Honey with other ingredients like soy sauce, olive oil, and herbs to tofu, tempeh, mock meats, and vegetables. 
  6. Glazes: Use Zero-Bee Vegan Honey to glaze a seitan roast for a sweet and savory caramelised crust.
  7. Sauces: Create unique sauces by combining Zero-Bee Vegan Honey with mustard, vinegar, or spices.
  8. Salad Dressings: Add a touch of sweetness to salad dressings with a drizzle of Zero-Bee Vegan Honey.

Zero Bee Honey Mustard Dressing:

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and lemon juice.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Adjust the consistency by adding more or less olive oil.

Vegan Seitan Roast with Honey Mustard Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 block of seitan
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened.
  3. Add the vegetable broth, soy sauce, honey, thyme, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Place the seitan in a roasting pan. Pour the sauce over the seitan.
  5. Roast for 30-40 minutes, or until the seitan is cooked through and the sauce is thickened.

Tips:

  • For a more flavorful seitan, marinate it in the honey mustard dressing for at least 30 minutes before roasting.
  • You can add other vegetables to the roasting pan for a complete meal.
  • Serve with roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, or rice.
